YMCA Camp Erdman in Waialua on the North Shore of Oahu doubled as the eerie Dharma Initiative village sometimes called “Dharmaville” and the Others’ barracks in the hit TV series Lost. The production painted the little cabins (later repainted after the show wrapped) and added set pieces like a gazebo so the site could stand in for the idyllic, mysterious community where characters like Juliet and Ben interacted with the survivors in episodes such as the Season 3 premiere. Scenes shot here include exterior shots of the Others’ village of homes and various communal buildings, with some interior sequences filmed in the camp’s assembly hall dressed to look like Dharma facilities. Fans still visit to walk the grounds and spot familiar nooks from the show’s lore.
